Principal's Message:

The school year has gotten off to a great start. As I walk through classrooms I am impressed by the work ethic of our students. All are focused and doing their best. Please be sure to stay abreast of your child’s grades through the Parent Portal. Progress reports go home September 22.

Underclassmen had their pictures on August 22 and we had our first SAC meeting that day. Thank you to the parents, teachers and students who attended. Our first Parent Booster Meeting will be September 7 at 2:15pm in D-5. We hope to see you there. Our next SAC meeting will be Sept 26 at 2:15pm in D-5. Picture retakes will be September 28. Any senior who did not get their picture taken over the summer and wants to be in the yearbook, Lifetouch will be here October 31 for Senior pictures. There is a $20 sitting fee for senior portraits. This will be the last opportunity for Senior pictures.

The Junior class had their meeting with Herff Jones who is the provider for class rings and graduation announcements. Juniors were given the information for purchasing a class ring. Seniors will meet with Herff Jones in October for graduation announcements. Students participated in College Week August 28-Sept. 1 with various activities. Graduation will be Friday, May 25 at 9:30am this school year.

Students are preparing for the FSA Writing and Reading retakes which will be Sept. 25th and Oct. 2. If your student is scheduled to take the retakes (students who have not passed the 10th grade FSA), please encourage them to practice at home using Khan Academy.

Thank you all for your continued support as we work towards another successful school year. I hope everyone has a well- deserved Labor Day holiday and we look forward to everyone returning to school on Tuesday, September 5.
